A Large Minton Majolica Jardiniere with Snakes, 19th Century
England, 19th century, an unmarked Minton urn or garden pot, originally designed by Professor Gottfried Semper, recorded as shape no. 532. The piece of compressed form with flaring rim, the shoulder flanked by entwined serpent handles, the mouth molded with a band of chain centering leafy rosettes, the circular foot edged with a green and yellow band, the interior in mottled earth tones.

  • Dimensions: Approximately 10 1/2 inches tall, 20 3/4 inches to handle, 14 1/2 inch mouth opening.
  • Condition: Under UV light, there is evidence of early and well executed repair at the top rim.
