An Early 19th Century Anglo-Indian Sewing Workbox
A large and well carved wooden (probably Ebony) workbox, finely detailed with flowers and vines. The lid opens to reveal a top layer of fitted compartments; the lids showcasing intricately incised bone floral motifs or inlaid with geometrical designs. The underside of the top lid inlaid with a circle of bone carved flowers with a central elephant medallion.
16.5" wide, 11.75" deep, 7.5" tall
Noting 2 age across the width of the top of the box, missing elements to the medallion under the lid, some age related loss to the tops of the compartment boxes
