Demi-Lune Bombe Commode, Circa 1710 with Intarsia Ivory Inlay
Hunt scene motif with three graduated drawers, each depicting a unique scene; the top drawer depicting a fox hunt; the middle drawer is a deer hunt and the bottom drawer is a wild bull hunt. The top of the commode depicts a wild boar hunt, and the sides depict huntsman with dog. Champfered corners terminating in shaped feet. Commode has ornate floral inlaid motif; two back legs with ornate inlay, side panels have geometric cartouche with inlay. Acquired Gilbert Pelham Antiques, New York, 1970
