Other Notes: Joe Jones presented this study to the builder of the original 905 Liquor Store in downtown St. Louis to to prove his skills as an artist and secure the job as muralist. The 905 liquor stores took their name from the original location at 12th and 905 Market Street in downtown St. Louis. The interior was decorated with monumental murals by Joe Jones that captured the American farmer, the harvest, and the golden seas of wheat that shimmer in our countries heartland as perfectly as any of the Regionalist, period. This painting has been handed down through the family of the original builder to the present owner.

  • Condition: This painting has been examined under u.v. light and there is no visible inpaint. The painting is in excellent condition.
