Description:

Pierre Sala
France, (1948-1989)
Enameled Table, 1983
lacquered wood
Signed and dated to the underside.

A fun, post-modern, primary colored, high glossed rare 1983 table, similar to one known as "Marcheuse" (the walking [table]). Made by French designer Pierre Sala (1948-1989) who came to furniture design from the world of theater, this table is signed and dated but comes with no edition number (unlike the two other Sala chairs in this auction that are numbered), possibly a prototype. The table is part of a larger body of Sala's playful and colorful work that includes chairs named after a variety of animals and bookcases and tables made out of gigantic looking pencils.

  • Dimensions: Height: 19 3/4"; Width: 31 1/2"; Depth: 23 3/4"
  • Medium: lacquered wood
