Santo Domingo (Kewa Pueblo) by Award Winning Artist Robert Tenorio
Hand coiled terra cotta clay and open wood fired kiln; it is decorated in natural buff and black colored pigments. The interior motif is four prancing horses in buff against a black ground. The exterior design is buff segmented ovals on black with a single corn stalk above the red clay base. Robert Tenorio was born in 1950 and has been potting since about age ten and holds many awards including some from the Hearst Museum. His works are on display in the Peabody Museum at Harvard University, the Nagoya Museum in Japan and the British Royal Family and others. Diameter 15 inches, height 6 1/2 inches
